Babies absorb the wonder of the world around them, bursting with incredible potential. They are filled with curiosity as they play, listen, learn and explore.

At William Elliott Nursery School we take special care in ensuring your baby has a safe, secure and encouraging environment for their growth and development.

We are committed to the daily wellbeing of your baby and foster a sense of home right at our nursery.

Our educators greet each new baby with love and wonder. They learn about and carefully observe as well as communicate with each parent to understand the unique needs of their baby.

Benefits for your Baby

Parents often feel guilty about sending their children to nursery, even if it’s necessary so they can return to work and be able to provide for their family.

However, there is plenty of evidence that attending nursery from as early as 3 month has many benefits for the cognitive development of your child.

For example, Kathy Sylva, a professor of educational psychology at Oxford University, has said that children who start attending nursery before the age of 2 go on to form better relationships at primary school.

Deciding what age is right to send your child to nursery is a very personal choice, depending on when you need to return to work and what you feel is best for your child. The most important thing to bear in mind is that you don’t need to feel guilty, whatever age your child is. As long as you choose a good nursery, your child will be well looked after and will continue to develop in a happy and healthy way.
