Welcome to William Elliott Nursery School
At William Elliott Nursery School (WENS) we ensure that children are able to learn and develop in a unique environment where there is always something new to learn!
All state nurseries, private day nurseries and pre-schools deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. At William Elliott Nursery School we cover the “Early Year Foundation Stage” and the “STEM” (a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) programmes throughout the nursery day.
Our unique curriculum is delivered through planned play based activities suitable to the stage each child has reached. Children are encouraged to make choices and decisions about a range of activities they would like to be involved in throughout the day.
The planning is a balance of both adult-led and child-initiated activities, by which the children will be challenged in order to reach their full potential, but not pushed beyond their capabilities so they can continue to enjoy learning.
Continuous assessments of the children’s learning are carried out through observations in order to inform planning on the next steps in each child’s development through play-based activities.
Baby
At William Elliott Nursery School (WENS) we take special care in ensuring your baby has a safe, secure and encouraging environment for their growth and development. We are committed to the daily wellbeing of your baby and foster a sense of home right at our nursery.
Toddler
We welcome each toddler with open arms and patience. We know that toddlers are curious, energetic and growing fast. That’s why we take special care to learn about each child and develop an environment that helps them flourish, instead of holding them back.
Preschool
With our early years “mini learners curriculum” we follow our philosophy of “learning through play” to foster your child’s development through experiences and expose preschool children to learning opportunities involving nature, literacy, numeracy, emotional development, social engagement, confidence-building and so much more.
Our Classrooms

Our facilities provide children with everything they need to prosper.
In addition we organise weekly forest school outdoor activities at the nearby forest.
We are a newly opened nursery school located in Islington at the Holly Park Church Hall, Crouch Hill where we offer places for 3-month to 5-years old children with a separate large room for babies, and occupy the great Church Hall jointly for toddlers and pre-school children which is also used as a Dining Hall during meal times.
Outdoor activities are provided at the church garden as well as two nearby external public playgrounds for the children to enjoy.

The first few years of your child’s life is a time of magic and wonder. As childcare professionals we understand the importance of these years, and dedicate ourselves to provide positive and productive learning experiences for your child. Our policies are dictated by our philosophy, and are designed for your child’s optimal learning and growth.
Parent involvement is of great importance to your child’s success and that of our nursery. You are invited to volunteering on a regular basis, participate in special events, as well as contributing to your child’s learning journey through our parent app. You’re an integral part of your child’s success.
Highest Standards
We take health very seriously. This includes everything from the quality of food that we serve to the health of every child and every member of team. All of our staff have emergency training skills, and our facility is maintained to the highest standards.
